Reflecting on ideas around geometry and chaos. Modernist architecture; as a kind of crumbling past and the sadness around the loss of the Bauhaus, I wanted to create a painting which sought to play with these elements. Geometric form within the chaos of the forest, is a kind of motif of architecture sculpted out of earth, order out of chaos. Underpinning all this is my obsession around dysfunctional families and loss with colour as a kind of sugar coating.
