About

Celula de Artă is an independent cultural project, born from the desire to promote contemporary art creators. The unique element that Celula de arta brought was immediate access to contemporary works of art. Conventional exhibition spaces impose a certain etiquette that can deter those less familiar with the art world. Also, the exhibitions cannot be viewed outside of a restricted schedule, which forces the viewer to make time for them. However, the works present in Celula de arta are available at any time and invite a diverse audience; every viewer becomes a consumer of art, regardless of gender, age, academic training, professional field. At the beginning of 2022, under the umbrella of the Celula, the Vertical Gallery, the second permanent exhibition space, was inaugurated in the Random Space courtyard (Popa Petre street no. 21). The event consisted of a live painting entitled "Blind Five", during which the artists Norica Ioana, Andreias Whelter, Bogdan Negulescu, Alexandru Răduță and Monica Târziu painted blindfolded. Through this performance, the organizers made a clear reference to the aforementioned "Blind Four", also signaling the passing of the baton. In April 2022, Celula de Artă started a partnership with Kulterra Gallery, thus giving birth to Pop Up Window Celula @ Kulterra Gallery, the third permanent exhibition space, within the "Feat. Kulterra" program, designed to encourage dialogue between the audience and the artists. The conquest of space continues in 2023. "Reflection of light", the recent exhibition of Bogdan Negulescu, artist and project manager at Celula de Artă, in the ARSAFE gallery, sealed a new collaboration, this time, within the Plastic Fund Combine (Băiculești Street 29). Starting from June Cărtureşti Modul will allocate, in turn, a Celula pop-up window. And thanks to the support offered by Bulevart, the Bragadiru Palace will host, a space for a permanent gallery for Celula.
