Maria Palma (Beja, 1997), a multidisciplinary artist, currently lives in Porto where she is studying a master's degree in Plastic Arts – Sculpture at FBAUP. The interest in the body and movement emerges at a young age, floating through different areas of dance, thus allowing the creation of different ways of looking and shaping the body in front of the spectator. Her main interest is the study of the relations between the body, its spatiality and living experience, working often with her own body, as it is seen as the closest and most immediate material of action. The areas of intervention are mainly in the scope of sculpture and performance. She has participated in several shows and group exhibitions in the Portuguese scene, such as FACE-Espinho (2021), the Contextile '22 biennial in Guimarães, and the Meymac Contemporary Art Center (France-Portugal, 2022). She received an Honorable Mention in the FBAUP Acquisition Award with her work ‘’As minhas dores e os meus amores’’.
