Samir Buari

Aspiring artist Samir Buari is passionate about ecology and mental health. Born in the commercial capital of Nigeria in a variety of Lagos neighbourhoods, via a combination of formal and informal educations, he learned the darker truth behind the statement, “Money makes the world go round”. While pursuing an MA in Fine Arts at Norwich University of the Arts, he traced the links from slavery to modern capitalism, using his knowledge to shed light on how much hasn’t changed since its ‘abolition’ in the 1800s. A staunch advocate for anti-imperialist agendas, he frequently crafts compositions chronicling the traumas inflicted on his people by the systems set in motion ever since the colonization of his motherland.
